Bancha Tea is a Japanese green tea harvested from the second flush of sencha between summer and autumn. It is a less-costly alternative to the higher-grade Sencha, and has a more astringent, robust, grassy and slightly dry flavor.
To enjoy, pour 6 ounces simmering water (170 degrees preferred) over one teaspoon tea. Steep 2 to 4 minutes, strain and serve immediately.
